FUE Hair Transplant

FUE Hair Transplant
Hair loss, while common can be very unpleasant for many individuals.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a type of hair transplant performed by transferring hair from one site and grafting it to another part of the head where the hair is thinner or absent.
With FUE the follicles are harvested from a donor site and grafted in a bald area for hair to grow and become full. About 10-20% hair growth in about 3 to 4 months, 50% in about 6 months, 80% in about 8 to 9 months and 100% in about a 9 to 12 months.
FUE procedure is typically preformed with some oral sedation and local anesthesia, which allows for a very comfortable procedure and quick recovery.
A devise is used to extract the individual hair follicles and follicular units from the donor site. The donor site is usually the hair form the back and sides of the head, these hairs are chosen because they are resistant to hormones that cause hair loss, and when they begin to grow.
Tiny incisions are placed in the treated area using a punch, the hair grafts are placed into the incisions and left unbandaged to grow. An average amount of graft that can be harvest is about 1000-2500 per session.
The hair transplant will take about 6-8 hours to perform, and patients go home the same day.
Studies show the survival rate of grafts are about 90% to 100%.
Hair Medica products, PRP treatments, finasteride, and minoxidil are all excellent options to maximize and maintain the results of any hair transplant procedure.
